Second opinion
What
is a second opinion?
A second opinion involves consulting another dentist for a second assessment of your dental situation or a proposed treatment. The aim is to:
- Get more information
- Find certainty
- Consider an alternative approach
The dentist who performs the second opinion does not make any decisions or perform any treatments. This way, the assessments remain independent and objective.
If your dentist refers you for a second opinion, he or she will be informed of the findings. If you come for a second opinion on your own initiative, this is also preferred, but this will not happen without your consent.
